Recently, Musa, a Chadian student majoring in Civil Engineering for the class of 2022 in our school, participated in the "SCO Youth Encounter Qingdao" practical learning activity jointly organized by the Ministry of Education's Study Abroad Service Center, the Shandong Provincial Department of Education, and the Administrative Committee of the China-SCO Local Economic and Trade Cooperation Demonstration Area, and jointly hosted by Qingdao Preschool Teachers College and China-SCO Institute of Economy and Trade.
During the seven day event from July 4th to 10th, 100 outstanding young students from 30 countries gathered in Qingdao to conduct in-depth research around the five core themes of "SCO Spirit," "Talent Cultivation," "Radiation Hub," "Internship and Employment," and "Cultural Exchange". The activity adopted a three-dimensional learning mode combining knowledge lectures, group discussions, and field research. The students not only listened to the special lectures and had in-depth discussions and exchanges, but also visited representative places such as Ocean University of China and Qingdao Port fully automated container terminal, personally experiencing the development pulse of this coastal city.
Through this event, young students from various countries were able to closely observe the urban changes and development process of Qingdao, deeply understand the innovative explorations and remarkable achievements of the SCO Demonstration Zone in building a new platform for international cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, and personally experience the unique urban charm and humanistic warmth of Qingdao. In the process of learning, discussion, exchange, mutual learning, and collaborative progress, the participants inspired each other and grew together, injecting strong youthful momentum into the construction of a closer community of shared destiny.
Musa gained a lot from the activity. He admitted that this practical experience greatly broadened his horizons and gave him a deeper understanding of the cooperation concept and operational mechanism of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Through in-depth exchanges with young people from China and other countries, he personally experienced the collision and integration of diverse cultures, and gained a more three-dimensional and rich perception of Chinese society, history, and culture that far exceeds books. Musa said that this trip to Qingdao was an unforgettable journey of learning and growth, and he looks forward to more opportunities in the future to participate in such high-level exchange activities and continue to deepen his understanding of China.
In this practical learning activity, Musa performed excellently. With his solid Chinese language foundation and excellent cross-cultural communication skills, he won unanimous praise from the leading teacher and other students.
